Holiday shopping is creeping upon us with Black Friday and Cyber Monday around the corner. Everyone is gearing up to prepare themselves for the crowded malls, long lines and being able to grab those in-demand gifts before they’re sold out. All this pressure can make the holiday season a bit stressful, here are a few simple ways to properly prepare for holiday shopping without the “headache”.
• Plan ahead:
It’s important not to shop blindly. Make sure you know what you’re looking for to avoid spending hours aimlessly walking around the mall or searching online. This also will help you dodge those last minute shopping days when everything is sold out or picked through.
• Shop online:
Shop stress-free from the comfort of your own home, just make sure you do it before the holiday shipping deadlines. This will save you time, transportation and help you avoid those crowded malls. Not to mention, it’s much easier to search the web for that killer holiday deal without hopping from store-to-store. Plus, a lot of online retailers offer free shipping when you spend a certain dollar amount or offer it as a holiday promotion.
• Get in, get out early:
If you absolutely have to make the journey to the malls and shopping centers GO EARLY. Usually before noon the crowds aren’t as bad, stores are cleaned and stocked and inventory hasn’t been picked through. These factors really make a huge difference in your shopping experience.
• Remember to hydrate and eat:
Shopping all day can leave you feeling lethargic and fatigued. Make sure you pack a reusable water bottle and a healthy snack to get you through the day. Walnuts/almonds or low sugar organic energy bars are great portable snack that will boost your energy and keep your mind sharp.
• Avoid Black Friday and wait for Cyber Monday:
Enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend and avoid those crazy stampedes and crowds during Black Friday. Cyber Monday is known to offer the same deals, if not better than Black Friday. You can always check the items out in stores before the holidays to ensure they’re exactly what you want.
• Have a backup plan:
If the gift you’re looking for happens to be sold out everywhere, it’s always helpful to have a backup gift idea.
