November 5th, 2015

We all get caught up in work, relationships and drama, which can leave us feeling restless and stressed out. Sometimes it’s important to step back, regroup and clear your mind to keep your mind and body in tip-top shape. Here are a few simple ways to de-stress that will come in handy every day!Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download

1. When your day is turning into evening, TURN OFF WORK. When you leave the office for the day, it’s important to exit out of work mode and enter into “me time” and family time. Being distracted by issues that cannot be fixed until the next day will only increase your stress level at home and in your personal life.

2. Keep up with the cleaning and clutter. Coming home every day to a clean space is calming for the mind. Remember your home is your sanctuary!

3. Make time for a good night’s sleep. Getting the proper amount of sleep will keep you sharp and alert during the day. We all know fatigue and stress go hand-in-hand.

4. Wake up with enough time to relax, eat breakfast, read the paper, etc. Having that extra time in the morning without feeling rushed is a great way to start your day.

5. Most importantly, always remember to make time for yourself. Whether taking a yoga class, reading a good book or watching your favorite sitcom, it’s alway nice to do something each day that makes you happy.

Color Therapy

January 13th, 2015

We are all organic beings. Every molecule in our body is a vibration. When we see color, it’s a vibration on our retina. The same is true with olfaction. When we inhale things, such as essential oils, they create a whole vibration, which, in turn, sends a cascade of emotional responses through our bodies.

Here at 21 Drops, sight and scent are fused together to create a healthier mind and body. Even the colors of our pure essential oil combinations are a direct reflection of the emotional or physical effect of the blend.

Ask Cary: Calming Blends + Libido

August 1st, 2014

We get all kinds of questions about essential oil therapy, and Cary makes sure to answer each and every one of them. Recently, we realized that those answers were only going to the person who asked the question. You know that at 21 Drops we believe that sharing is caring, so we decided to do a weekly roundup of some of the Q’s & A’s to help you be your best self!

This week’s topics: Calming Blends + Libido

Happy Woman

Question: Can you recommend anything that would have a calming/happy effect?

Answer: I created two blends for your calming and soothing needs: Calm and De-Stress. De-Stress was created for full-on anxiety, whereas calm is more about taking the edge off. I would also recommend Uplift. This blend will help brighten your outlook and offer emotional support.

Question: What can I use to improve my libido?

Answer: I’d recommend Strength for improving libido. The Rosemary encourages clarity and confidence, Rose is a natural anti-depressant and aphrodisiac, and Cedarwood is grounding and fortifying. This blend happens to be one of my favorites.

Why Lavender is the Most Widely Used Essential Oil

July 31st, 2014

The Granddaddy of essential oils, Lavender has been used for thousands of years by a host of civilizations. The Egyptian, Phoenician and Arabian people coveted it for its perfume properties; the ancient Greeks used it as a cure for everything from insomnia to aching backs to insanity; the Romans infused their bath water with its flowers, giving Lavender its name, from lavare–the Latin word for wash. For centuries, Europeans even sprinkled Lavender on interior floors to disinfect and deodorize their homes.

Lavender Essential Oil

Even today, Lavender is the most widely used essential oil. Some could argue it is the (almost) all encompassing essential oil, as its healing properties truly run the gamut. And Lavender’s floral, balanced aroma blends easily with most other oils.

Emotionally, Lavender calms, soothes and nurtures, encouraging balance in all the bodily systems. It should come as no shock that many nighttime lotions tend to have a lavender scent. Many massage therapists use it in massage oils for deep relaxation, and it can be simply dropped (only 3-5 drops) in a warm bath in the privacy of your own home.

But lavender’s properties extend much further than just its calming effects.  Research shows that Lavender is analgesic, antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic and an antioxidant.

Lavender can be found in 6 of our essential oil blends:

Detox – to soothe nerves

Headache – to pacify, nurture and rebalance

De-Stress – to reduce anxiety

Uplift – to brighten the spirit

Carry On – to balance the emotions

Immunity – to help purify the body

Naturally Reduce Stress with a Much-Needed Rub Down

June 17th, 2014

Stress is an unfortunate side effect of our modern society. Paying bills, sitting in traffic, meeting deadlines, balancing relationships. It is hard to do it all, and it’s even harder to do it while keeping calm. So how can we lessen the stress?

Massage - blog

Massage therapy has been proven to physically reduce harmful levels of stress hormones in the body while increasing levels of endorphins.

Living with stress keeps us strapped into a never-ending rollercoaster of racing hearts, short and shallow breathing, muscular tension and the “pit-in-the-stomach” sensation.

Stress is emotional, causing:

– angry outbursts

– eating disorders

– lack of focus

– drug and alcohol abuse

Stress is also physical, causing:

– headaches

– upset stomach

– elevated blood pressure

– chest pain

– low libido

– suppressed immunity

– trouble sleeping

Studies on the effect of massage show a significant decrease in heart rate, blood pressure, cortisol levels and muscular tension. And best of all, subjects who received massages showed significant changes in their psychological state, expressing feelings of euphoria and deep relaxation.

So next time you question whether or not you should “splurge” on a massage, go for it!

Ask Cary: Carrier Oils + Anxiety

June 6th, 2014

We get all kinds of questions about essential oil therapy, and Cary makes sure to answer each and every one of them. Recently, we realized that those answers were only going to the person who asked the question. You know at 21 Drops we believe that sharing is caring, so we decided to do a weekly roundup of some of the Q’s & A’s to help you be your best self!

First up: Carrier oils and anxiety

Carrier Oils + Anxiety

Question: Do you use any carrier oils in your blends? Or do the vials contain only
essential oils? I have some nut allergies, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t have a problem.

Answer: Because essential oils should never be applied directly to the skin, all of our blends contain a synergy of 3-5 essential oils diluted in a 100% organic jojoba carrier oil. There are no other oils in our blends, so if you have nut allergies, there should not be an issue. Click here to learn more about our oils.

Question: I have anxiety when I ride the subway. What blend would your recommend? I checked out De-Stress, Calm and Equalize. They seem similar, what do you think?

Answer: I’d say your choice depends on your level of anxiety. If you feel extremely anxious, with a racing heart, muscle tension, and an overactive mind, then I’d recommend De-Stress. If you just get a bit uncomfortable and need to be calmed, I’d choose CalmEqualize is more about neutralizing the mind and has a soothing effect.

De-Stress Makes a Great Birthday Present

March 24th, 2014

“I love 21 drops! I had asked at my local spa if they had any aromatherapy products, and at the time they said they didn’t. Fast forward to a grand opening at the same spa after they had moved to a new location. I saw that they had 21 drops and were giving away samples. However, they were incredibly busy and I left without my 21 drops. 🙁 A few weeks later was my birthday and my husband surprised me with a bottle of De-Stress. I use it all the time and never go out of town without it! Thanks 21 drops for a great product. Just what I was looking for!”

Zoning Back In

October 31st, 2013

“I was having a day where it seemed like every project was due. I was feeling overwhelmed and I sat back in my chair and just ”zoned out.” I saw my De-stress (11) on my desk and applied it to my temples. As I inhaled the scent, I felt the tension start to leave my body. After a little while, I was able to delve back into my work. 21 Drops was like a mini vacation!”
