Managing the Munchies: Just “Abstain”

October 23rd, 2012

“I’ll only have a tiny bit,” you say as you reach for just one small bite of that decadent dessert…

We’ve all been there and we know how it ends. (Serious stomachache and self-loathing, anyone?!)

Eating well is not easy, especially when we’re bombarded with an abundance of sugary sweet, melt-in-your-mouth, resolve-breaking opportunities. Contrary to what we may tell ourselves, willpower (or lack thereof) is not the only thing working against us in our quest for healthy eating. There are innumerable psychological cues that affect how we eat; ones we don’t even take notice of. Eating from bigger plates causes us to consume more. Being surrounded by the color red makes us hungrier. Ever see an ad on TV for a specific snack and start craving that exact thing a while later? Our psychological states are being worked on without us even realizing it!

But there are positive cues we can use to counteract these influences. Brushing your teeth after a meal can help put late-night cravings to bed. Dining on a smaller plate can make reducing portion size a lot easier. And we love our 21 Drops Abstain blend to stop temptation in its tracks.

Abstain is especially formulated to satisfy a craving without the need for extra calories. It’s a blend of cardamom seed oil, grapefruit fruit rind oil and juniper fruit oil to leave you feeling satiated. Just a small dab of this mélange of fruit and spice oils can work wonders in fortifying your body against cravings throughout the day. Sorry birthday cake, you can’t hold a candle to it!
