Cary’s Famous Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Every fall, 21 drops founder, Cary Caster, makes her irresistible roasted spiced pumpkin seeds. Pumpkin seeds are a super healthy snack, which is a great source of mineral zinc, according to the World Health Organization. Check out the recipe below:

Pumpkin seeds (raw)

1 tbsp Roasted Sesame Oil

3 tbsp Tamari

Dusting of Pumpkin Spice

Dash of Cayenne Pepper

Dash of Cinnamon

Dash of Nutmeg



Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Extract raw pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin, rinse thoroughly and dry before adding spices. In a large baking bowl, combine pumpkin seeds with roasted sesame oil and spices. Wisk seeds around so that all of them are evenly coated with spices. Transfer the seeds onto large baking sheet covered with aluminum foil, make sure they are spread out evenly. Place in the oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Make sure to move seeds around with a spatula every 5 minutes. When done, remove seeds from oven, let cool and enjoy!


Easy Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

When you’re sick, there’s nothing more comforting than homemade chicken noodle soup. You will get an instant immunity boost from all of its nutrient-rich ingredients. Here is one of our favorite old-time homemade chicken noodle soup recipes:


Whole organic chicken

2 parsnips, sliced diagonally

2 turnips, sliced diagonally

2-3 carrots, sliced diagonally

2 celery stalks, sliced diagonally

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves of garlic, minced

Salt (taste for desired amount)

Pepper (taste for desired amount)

Handful of fresh dill

2 bay leaves

2 fresh thyme sprigs

Handful of fresh parsley

Whole grain rice or egg noodle (cooked separately from soup)


First, cut and separate your whole organic chicken (click here to learn how). Then, place the chicken pieces (including the back and neck bones, but be sure to remove most of the ribs and smaller bones) into a large stock pot, then add enough cold water to cover the chicken by 2 inches. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a medium-low simmer for about 20 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer partially covered for about 2 -3 hours. When the soup is about ready to serve, cook your noodles or rice separately in a medium saucepan. Combine desired amount of soup and rice/noodles into bowl and enjoy!
